Mansfield: The Russian prison scene was shot in Mansfield Reformatory on 100 Reformatory Road
Columbus: Rickenbacker Airport at 7161 Second Street was used as Ramstein Air Force Base. Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base was used too.

Ashland: Bank and bus station scenes
Butler: The exteriors of the town were used to depict the rural town of Buxton where Red travels to. The final shot of the bus leaving at the end of the movie was shot here too.
Lucas: The cabin at the beginning was filmed at Malabar Farm State Park at 4050 Broomfield Road. The tree and rock wall scenes were shot here too.
Mansfield: The 100-year-old Mansfield Reformatory at 100 Reformatory Road was featured in the filming. Recently, a $1.5 million campaign has been launched to revitalized the prison that has been closed since 1990. Hopes are that it will become a major tourist attraction. Also of note is the fact that the prison is home to the largest free-standing cellblock.
