Bridges of Madison County (1995) - Adel, Winterset [Image 1] [Image 2] [Image 3] [Image 4] [Image 5] [Image 6] [Image 7] [Image 8] Madison County: Northside Cafe was the site of the cafe scene. It is known as a great place for breakfast. In existence since 1876, this is where Robert Kincaid stops for coffee and offers Lucy Redfield a stool. The seat that Clint Eastwood sat in is the fourth stool from the front of the restaurant. Francesca's House is located in the northeast section of the county and was restored for the filming. However, due to a fire in 2003, the house is no longer open for tours. M. Young and Company was the site of the "Winterset General Store" and also served as the backdrop for the rain scene. However, the building was torn down in 2000. A closed Conoco station was turned into the Texaco station for the movie. It is now used as a cyber cafe and Internet service provider. Pheasant Run Bar & Grill was the site of the interior shots for the "Blue Note Lounge". Exterior shots for the bar were filmed at a tractor garage on the Madison County Fairgrounds. The stone bridge in the scene where Robert and Francesca go for their picnic is located in Winterset's City Park. Pammel Park Middle River Ford in Pammel State Park is where Francesca's children discuss her diaries. Also filmed in the area were Holliwell and Roseman Bridges.
Field of Dreams (1989) - Dyersville, Dubuque Dyersville: Filming took place at the Lansing Family Farm (28963 Lansing Road) over the course of 14 weeks during the summer of 1988. The baseball field was constructed in a mere three days and modifications were made to the house to accommodate filming equipment. Great lengths have been taken not to over-commercialize the site, being true to the spirit of the movie. As a result, the field is never reserved and always open to tourists.
