The town relishes the brush with fame as their have posted plaques where the insurance salesman scene was filmed (plaque reads: Ned’s Corner) as well as the scene where Bill Murray falls through the hole in the street (plaque reads: Bill Murray stepped here). The Judge Charles P. Barnes House, built in 1894, was depicted as the bed-and-breakfast ("Cherry Street Inn") in the movie. Be mindful that this house is not a bed-and-breakfast in real life - it is a private residence. The downtown area where most of the filming takes place is still a vibrant area filled with many things to do and see. Restaurants, art galleries, museums, and specialty shops abound.
