Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) – Gustavus The Siberian scenes were filmed at Glacier Bay National Park Glacier Bay National Park is one part of the largest internationally protected area on earth. Its 3.3 million acres are home to a dozen tidewater glaciers, fjords, montane ice fields, whales, black bears, and many other things. The Bay was first charted by George Vancouver in 1794. Since that time the area has seen an earthquake that blocked off the bay for a decade in 1899 and the installation of a military base during World War II. There are no roads or ferry services that run to the park. However, a variety of air transportation options are available. Visiting between May and September is the only time to go unless you provide your own transportation and lodging. Cost: Admission: Free Information: Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve
